Trading at DSE, CSE optimistic

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed upward trends in early trading on Monday as enthusiastic investors remain active.

After first one hour of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse advanced 12.66 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 21.81 points.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 12.66 points or 0.20 percent to stand at 6,217 at 11:34 am.

The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also advanced 0.70 points or 0.03 percent to stand at 2,250.92.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 0.57 points or 0.04 percent to reach at 1,380.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 1,275.52 million on the DSE, riding on Delta Brac Housing Finance Corp and Grameenphone.

Delta Brac Housing Finance Corp Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 110.43 million changing hands till then, closely followed by Grameenphone, Baraka Power and Legacy Footwear.

Of the issues traded till then, 145 advanced, 102 declined and 55 issues remained unchanged.

The port city bourse, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - advancing 21.81 points to stand at 11,626 also at 11:37 am.

Of the issues traded till then, 76 gained, 38 declined and 24 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 55.42 million.
