‘It’s difficult to obtain 46 licences’

The Andhra Pradesh Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (APNA) on Sunday demanded that the State government introduce single window system for the registration and renewal of licences pertaining to the nursing homes, as it was difficult for the managements to obtain 46 licences from different departments.

“The government should also extend the duration for renewal of licence from the one year to at least three years,” D. Srihari Rao, president of the APNA’s State unit, said while addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the association’s general body meeting here. He said that the APNA was the biggest professional body in the State with the membership of about 2,500 hospitals and nursing homes that serve about 80% of the population.

NTR Vaidya Seva

“It is unfortunate that the private hospitals and nursing homes are not included in the NTR Vaidya Seva. Though we are equipped to render referral services and post-op care and specialised treatments, the government is not focussing on making use of our services,” he said, adding that the issue was taken to the notice of the officials.
