CHANDIGARH: The Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA), on Wednesday, will start the registration for e-auction of registration numbers 0001 to 9999 of series CH01-BQ from December 13 to 19. E-auction will take place from December 20 to 22.
The owner of the vehicle can register on the national transport website, https://parivahan.gov.in/fancy, and obtain the unique acknowledgement number (UAN). People who have purchased vehicles at Chandigarh address only will be allowed to participate. Sale letter, that is, form number 21, Aadhaar card and address proof of Chandigarh are mandatory to participate.
The owners will have to deposit the fee and reserve amount of the special/choice registration numbers by way of DD (demand draft) in favour of "Registering & Licensing Authority, UT" payable at Chandigarh. The detail of fee for registration for participating in e-auction, the list of reserve price for each special number, procedure of online auction and terms and conditions for e-auction are available on administration's transport department website, www.chdtransport.gov.in.
During the last auction held on October 12, 0001 number of the series CH-01-BP went for Rs 4.10 lakh against a reserve price of Rs 30,000. The number was bought by Joginder Pal Sharma, a resident of Sector 51. Sharma, a businessman, purchased the number for a new Mercedes car. The 0009 number emerged as the second most sought after; was bought by Saraswati Agro Chemical Limited for Rs 3.11 lakh against a reserve price of Rs 50,000. Harjit Kaur Ahluwalia had purchased 0005 number for Rs 2.51 lakh, while 0005 went for Rs 2.51 lakh. CH01-BP-0007 went for Rs 2.30 lakh.
