A 15-year-old-girl suffering from blood cancer was allegedly raped by three men at two secluded places in a village on the outskirts of Lucknow on Saturday night.
Her neighbour and his friend took turns to rape her and then a man on a motorcycle, who assured her help after she was abandoned by the first two men, raped her again, police said on Sunday.
Additional superintendent of police (East) Sarvesh Mishra said residents spotted the girl walking alone around midnight and informed Bijnore police outpost.
The girl narrated her ordeal to police, following which her family was informed.
Police arrested the motorcyclist after registering an FIR. The other two men are on the run.
The girl told police that the two men met her when she had gone to an eatery near her house around 5pm. She said they offered her a lift on their motorcycle but took her to a deserted place, where she was held hostage for about six hours and raped.
They allegedly dumped her on a road and threatened to kill her if she spoke to anyone about the crime.
When she was waiting by the roadside for help, the motorcyclist arrived and promised to drop her home, she told police.
On the way, she revealed her ordeal and the man “took her to another deserted spot, raped her and escaped, leaving her at the spot”, an officer said.
According to the girl’s parents, her cancer was detected four years ago and she is under treatment in Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in the Uttar Pradesh capital.
“As she is sick, we try not to refuse any of her demands and allowed her to go to the eatery,” her father said.
She was sent for a medical examination and police contacted a social organisation to counsel the traumatized girl.
Officer Mishra said the investigation officer has been directed to get the girl’s statement recorded before a judicial magistrate and nab the suspects at the earliest.
