Suryakumar Yadav's century kept Mumbai afloat on the fourth day of their Ranji Trophy quarter-final match against Karnataka.

Trailing by 277 runs at the start of the day at the Vidarbha Cricket Association stadium, Mumbai finished the first session at 238/4 with Akash Parkar (44) and Siddhesh Lad (8) in the middle. They are still 154 runs behind.

With some clean-hitting, Suryakumar slammed 16 fours and one six en route to his 108 of 180 balls. The right-hander was run out at the fag end of the session. Suryakumar was backing up too far when a straight drive from Parkar brushed bowler Shreyas Gopal's fingers to hit the stumps.
