(MENAFN) A plan of kidnapping and murder organized by MS-13 was blocked by Long Island police as they spotted a 16 year old male being pushed into a van.

Newsday reported that following the takedown Wednesday in Brentwood, a total of five members and contacts of the infamous gang were detained by plainclothes officers on charges of conspiracy.

In July, President Trump spoke out about MS-13 in Brentwood as he pledged to wipe out the gang and employ a stronger approach on immigration. The President said "they have transformed peaceful parks and beautiful quiet neighborhoods into blood-stained killing fields, they're animals."
