BENGALURU: Unable to deal with his illness, a 32-year-old man killed himself by jumping from the fourth floor of the Royal Meenakshi Mall on Bannerghatta road.

The deceased has been identified as Nagesh, a cook by profession in an eatery shop. He was married to Lakshmi, a domestic help and they had a six-year-old son. The couple hails from Mandya and were residing at Someshwara Layout in Hulimavu from the last eight years.

In her statement, Lakshmi told the police that Nagesh was suffering from a liver disease from the last few months. Due to the same, he was not going to work and was under depression. On Saturday,  Nagesh had left home when his wife was in a bathroom and while his son had gone for tuition. He had informed his family that he was going to the hospital but when he did not turn up home in time Lakshmi went to search for him.

A senior police officer said that the incident took place at 7.30 pm when Nagesh went inside the mall and jumped from the fourth floor. He was not carrying any identity cards or mobile phone. Mall staff alerted Hulimavu police.
