Raipur/Jagdalpur: Four CRPF troopers were killed and one grievously injured when a fellow trooper opened fire at them at a Central Reserve Police Force camp in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Saturday evening.

The injured trooper has been flown to capital Raipur for medical treatment.

DIG P. Sunderaj said the incident occurred in Bijapur district’s Basaguda camp of the CRPF’s 168 battalion.

Constable Sant Kumar opened fire on his colleagues, in which Sub-Inspectors VK Sharma and Megh Singh, and Assistant Sub Inspector Rajvir and constable GS Rao were killed on the spot. One constable was also seriously wounded.

He said Sant Kumar has been arrested and the reason for the shooting is under investigation.
