Woman commits suicide

Vadodara: Three of a family were booked for abetting suicide of a 22-year-old woman in Danteshwar on Saturday. The accused had allegedly demanded dowry and had beaten up the deceased forcing her to take the extreme step.

The complainant Rajesh Tiwari told cops that the accused Sumeet alias Suraj Dubey, to whom his daughter Khushboo was married, his father Sushilkumar Dubey and mother Geeta Dubey used to harass her these past four days. Tiwari's complaint stated that they had been demanding Rs 3.5 lakh from Khushboo as dowry. Police said that when Khushboo did not get money from her father, the trio would allegedly hurl abuses at her and beat her up. Tired of her in-law's harassment, Khushboo, on December 8, committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan when there was nobody at home.TNN
