Artistes vow to work for creating awareness on VAT

Artistes have vowed to work for creating awareness among country people to take part in country's development through paying Value Added Tax (VAT).

They made the pledge at the inauguration of National VAT Day and VAT Week at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) at city's Segunbagicha on Sunday.   

Actors Mir Sabbir and Ferdous, actress Meher Afroz Shaon and footballer Hasanuzzaman Khan Babu were, among others, present on the occasion.

They said all should work from their respective sides to cooperate the government to take the country forward.

NBR Chairman Nojibur Rahman thanked all to attend the programme braving the bad weather.

Later, the NBR chief alongwith the artistes inaugurated the National VAT Day and VAT Week releasing pigeons and balloons from a jeep.
