"Tashwanth, who was tied with a steel chain, was brought to Chennai on a flight late on Saturday night. Since a Mumbai court granted police custody of him for three days, he was taken to an undisclosed location where he is being interrogated," sources said.



"As the Mumbai police filed a case against him for attacking a cop and escaping from the custody, the court granted him bail in that case. Rs 5,000 surety was paid by the Chennai police, who then booked flight tickets to the city," sources added.

After nabbing him near Chembur race course on Wednesday and producing him before a court in Mumbai on Thursday, the special team police from Chennai were escorting him to the Mumbai airport. When they were at a hotel to have food, Tashwanth escaped from the police in the pretext of going to the toilet. He pushed away a police officer and fled.

The Mumbai police was informed immediately and teams were formed to nab him. After nearly 24 hours, he was arrested in a hotel where he was staying after changing his hairdo and shaving off his beard. Months after sexually abusing the girl child and killing her, Tashwanth, who was on bail, allegedly murdered his mother Sarala and took away her jewels.
