Olivier Giroud decision

23.00: Olivier Giroud reportedly would prefer to stay in London if he leaves Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Giroud has become something of the forgotten man at the Emirates and is still waiting to make his first Premier League appearance of the campaign.

However, according to the Sunday Mirror, Giroud’s priorities appear to have changed.

The report suggests that with his wife Jennifer expecting their third child together, he doesn’t feel inclined to up sticks again.

A source close to the striker told the paper: “Olivier does not want to disturb and uproot his family.

“Ideally, he wants to stay but he needs football – there are options in London for him.”

Cuadrado deal back on

21.30: Arsenal are back in for long-term target Juan Cuadrado, according to reports in Italy.

Italian sports TV channel Raisport claim the Colombia international is not happy in Turin and could leave in January.

It is said Cuadrado, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Alex Sandro all want out.

And the Gunners are said to have renewed their interest in the winger.

Arsenal exits

18.15: Arsenal could be set for a mid-season clear-out with European giants eyeing up their top talents.

Arsene Wenger will be gearing up for a chaotic January transfer window as plenty of Arsenal players are being linked with big transfers away from the club.

The Gunners have a host of players out of contract next summer including Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, though they could leave earlier in cut-price deals.

Jack Wilshere's future is undecided, while Olivier Giroud has been garnering interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea ahead of the window opening.

Wilshere contract talks

15.55: Arsene Wenger has admitted he will soon begin talks with Jack Wilshere regarding his future at the club.

“We are in December now, so it is time to talk,” he said. 

“But conversations have not happened yet.”

Wilshere is out of contract with the Gunners in the summer.

Double Arsenal contract announcement

13:35: Arsenal  have made a double contract annoucement on their official club website.

But Gunners fans who are hoping it concerns star men Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will be left disappointed.

Instead, Arsenal have agreed deals to keep two of their youngsters at the club - Jordi Osei-Tutu and Joseph Olowu.

Ronaldo transfer bombshell

11:30: Cristiano Ronaldo could have signed for Arsenal, Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed.

In an interview with France Football, Ferguson revealed all on the conversation he had with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes in 2009

That followed a friendly between United and Sporting where Ronaldo had stunned Red Devils players with his performance.

Fergie said: "I spoke with Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes and he said we had to hurry because Arsenal and Real Madrid wanted to sign him.

"I told Ronaldo to join us. He explained he'd have to talk with his mother about it."

Contract talk

10:55: Arsenal have held provisional talks with Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck over new contracts, according to the Telegraph.

The duo have 18 months to run on their deals and Arsenal are keen to avoid the situation they find themselves in with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez again next year.

Arsenal are also dealing with Jack Wilshere’s contract and lost Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool.

Ramsey and Welbeck have both suffered injuries and dips in form throughout their Arsenal careers but remain important players for the club.

Vieira calls for Sanchez sale

09:45: Arsenal should sell Alexis Sanchez because he will not give 100 per cent to the club.

That is according to Invincibles captain Patrick Vieira.

He told Copa 90: “When a player wants to leave a football club, I think they should let him go.

“When a player doesn’t want to stay at a football club any more, he’s never going to give 100 per cent and he is never going to give you his best.

“And I believe when a player wants to leave the club, you should let him go because there is no player bigger than the club.”

Arsenal January deal?

08:45: There could be a possible January deal on the cards at Arsenal - but an exit rather than an incoming.

Italian outlet Calciomercato claim Juventus are keen on a move for defender Shkodran Mustafi when the transfer window reopens.

Juve are looking for cover for Benedikt Howedes, who has a long-term injury problem.

Wenger tactics questioned

07:30: Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal players queried his tactics for the defeat to Manchester United.

The Gunners boss insisted, however, that he will continue to do things his way.

He said: “Everybody has a little bit of his own analysis. But mine counts!

“We analysed it in a very objective way. We had a very strong creative performance and a poor defensive performance.

“When you have a defeat like that, a disappointment like that, you try to analyse it straight away with the players to get it out of the system and focus on what is in front of you."
