A tiger has killed a farmer in village Adan of Yavatmal district, forest officials said today.
They said the tiger has so far killed nine persons in the last two years.
The deceased Chandku Bhonu Futki (50) was yesterday attacked by the tiger when he was returning home near the Pandharkawda forest range, officials said.
According to them, when Futki did not return home, his wife alerted villagers, who in-turn launched a search.
The villagers found his mutilated body, a senior forest official said.
He said last year four persons were killed by the tiger and this year the animal has killed five persons.
"We are making hectic efforts to trap the tiger," the officer added.
