2 held for assaulting tehsildar  

PURI: Police arrested two persons for assaulting the tehsildar and the additional tehsildar of Kanas tehsil on Saturday. According to an FIR, the incident took place while the officials were estimating the crop loss due to untimely rains in the region. Two youth, identified as Pramod Patra and Nilakanth Badjena of Chandapada village, assaulted the officials.  Sources said Pramod Patra had assaulted the tehsildar last year as well and was sent to jail, Later, he was released on bail and the case is pending in court. Kanas police registered  a criminal case against the two.
