Pakistan- Anti-merger maliks threaten to leave country if Fata merged with KP

(MENAFN - Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The anti-merger leaders of Fata Grand Alliance on Sunday threatened to leave country in protest if Fata was merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and announced to stage a sit-in on Thursday in Jamrud.

The announcement was made during a Jirga held here in Hayatabad where the alliance chief Malik Gul Marjan and a large number of maliks were present.

A statement issued later said if the government ignored their advice and accepted what tribal youth have been demanding then they would migrate to another country.

He said that they would stage a sit-in against the proposal to merge the area with KP on December 14 on Thursday that a large number of tribal people as well personnel of Khasadar force would join it.

'The merger would deprive them of their services,' he said and urged the personnel from across the Fata to join them.

Talking to Tribal News Network, Marjan asked all the jobless youth and people of Fata to reach Jamrud and join them in their cause against merger and vowed to render sacrifices for their cause.
