LG polls : SLFP to contest alone for several districts 
The signing of nominations of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and United People's Freedom Alliance for the upcoming local government elections took place at the SLFP headquarters in Darley Road today (10).
The General Secretary of the SLFP Duminda Dissanayake said that the party has decided to contest for Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Gampaha and North and East provinces under the SLFP.
Meanwhile, nominations for 93 local government institutions will be called from tomorrow onwards.
The Election Commission noted that the nominations will be accepted until 12 noon on 14th of December.
Further, the call for nominations of 248 other local government elections will commence on 18th of December and conclude at 12 noon on 21st of December.
