The Tiago hatchback from Tata Motors has been a successful product in the Indian. Now, the Indian automaker is working on a sporty version of the Tiago.
Yes, TeamBHP reports that the new version of the Tiago, christened as Tiago Sport will be launched in the Indian market by February 2018.
The new Tata Tiago Sport will be the most affordable hot hatchback in the Indian market. The sporty version of the Tiago is expected to feature aerodynamic body kits, new body graphics, exciting new colour options and sporty alloy wheels.
On the mechanical front, the Tiago Sport will draw power from the Nexon's 1.2-litre, turbocharged, three-cylinder, Revotron petrol engine churning out 108bhp and 170Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Motors could stiffen the suspension of the Tiago Sport for better stability for spirited driving. Apart from that, the hot hatchback could also feature sports seats, alloy pedals and unique trim on the interior. The Tiago Sport will be quicker than the Nexon because of the reduced kerb weight. So, Tata Motors could alter the power output of the 1.2-litre engine.
We expect Tata Motors to offer the Tiago Sport in the fully loaded XZ trim with standard safety features such as airbags and ABS. Currently, the top-end Tiago XZ petrol retails for Rs 4.98 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The Tiago Sport is likely to command a premium of Rs 1 lakh over the regular model.

The sporty version of the Tiago is likely to be priced around Rs 5 lakh, and it will be the most affordable hot hatchback in the country. With Maruti Suzuki also introducing the Swift Sport in India, the hatchback segment is spicing up in the country. Expect the Tiago Sport to make its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo in February.
