Sri Lanka Railways says that leave of all employees have been cancelled after railway service was declared as an essential service.
Following this, the authorities said that the employees who do not report to work will be considered as vacated their posts.
The Deputy Minister of Transport Ashok Abeysinghe revealed that if employees do not report to work by tomorrow, steps will be taken to fill the vacancies.
However, the trade unions reiterated that they will continue the strike until a solution is provided.
