5 arrested over Jubo League leader murder in Rangamati

Five people arrested on Sunday in connection with the murder of local Jubo League leader Arbinda Chakma in Jurachhari upazila of Rangamati.

The arrestees are Lakkhi Lal Chakma, a member of Dumduma Union Parishad in Jurachhari, Uttam Kumar Chakma, Manos Chakma, Rabidhan Chakma and Hemanta Chakma.

Rangamati’s Addition police superintendent Shafiul Sarwar said the suspects were arrested during a police drive in the morning, reports UNB.

On December 5, Arbinda was shot to death by unidentified miscreants at Mitingachhari Bazar of Jurachhari upazila.

A group of criminals opened fire on Arbinda while he was returning home after attending a party meeting in the upazila headquarters, leaving him dead on the spot.
