Samsung fans could soon have a new colour to choose from.

The technology firm has just announced the release of a refreshed Burgundy Red design which has just gone one sale in Korea.

Samsung launched this new look late last month with the company confirming that it is set to roll out in select markets over the coming weeks.

There’s no word on a European release but usually unveils updated colours of its flagship devices with the Galaxy S7 getting a Blue Coral design months after the original arrived in stores.

Red seems to be a popular colour at the moment with Apple adding this look to its iPhone and - although this is currently only on sale in China.

The news of Samsung refreshing the outside of its Galaxy S8 comes as its software could also be in line for some dramatic changes.

Google’s very latest Android Oreo operating system could be pushed out soon to users of the popular S8 and S8+.

This huge update brings a number of new features to the awarding-winning phone including improved Samsung Pay, better battery life and Samsung’s new GIF keyboard.

Although there’s no official word from Samsung when they will release Oreo they have already begun beta testing the software.

Some Galaxy S8 owners have been able to get hold of Android 8.0 via the Samsung Members or Samsung+ apps.

So when are you likely to see an official version of this new software arrive on your S8?

If we take a look at last year’s Galaxy S7, most users in the UK began receiving the update in March.

This was mainly due to Samsung releasing the update but the networks then taking their time to test it before pushing it out to consumers.

Speaking to Express.co.uk earlier in the year an EE spokesperson revealed: "Like the majority of UK networks, we’re working with Samsung and hope to have an approved nougat O/S file to roll out to our Galaxy S7 customers shortly.”

The same is likely to happen with Oreo as Samsung will have to complete their checks before it then being made available to the networks.

So, if your an S8 or S8+ owner don’t expect to see an update before the Christmas.

In fact, with the expected to be revealed in February, this looks like the most realistic time for Samsung to push out an operating system upgrade to all of its users.
