DUBAI: The Dubai Appellate Court upheld the life imprisonment issued by the court of first instance against a jobless Asian national, 23, who was convicted of murdering his colleague.
The defendant surrendered to the police and confessed to killing his colleague.
A police sergeant testified in front of the Dubai Prosecution that he was standing in front of the Bur Dubai police station and saw the defendant with his clothes stained with blood while saying loudly and hysterically “I killed my colleague Issa.”
The sergeant reportedly went with the defendant at the scene of the crime.
During investigations, the forensic expert explained that the murder was due to 35 stabs in the victim’s body in the neck, throat, trachea, chest cavity and lung.
The forensic report also indicated that the defendant had some severe injuries with a knife, indicating that a brawl had occurred between the defendant and the victim.
