BHOLA: Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Ltd (Bapex) launched the drilling work at the Bhola North-1 well Saturday (December 9).
Bangladesh’s state-run organization Bapex launched the operation under an agreement with Russian energy giant Gazprom and American oil field company Halliburton is operating the work.
Energy and Mineral Resources Division Secretary Nazim Uddin Chowdhury inaugurated the work.
Bapex is scheduled to explore 28 gas reservoirs in 2017-18 fiscal year.
Meanwhile, nine have been drilled.
Huge gas was discovered earlier in Shahbazpur East-1 well in Bhola.
However, exploration work will be conducted in more two gas reservoirs in Bhola soon.
