NOIDA: A 30-year-old criminal was killed while two policemen were injured in yet another [police encounter, this time in Dadri, on Saturday night. The man has been identified as Aslam, a resident of Shamli.
Police said they received information about movement of two criminals on a bike. "We deployed a team to check on Amka Road in Rupwas village. The criminals tried to speed away after opening fire at police party," said Ram Sen Singh, SHO, Dadri.
The police retaliated, injuring Aslam in his chest. The cops managed to apprehend him but his accomplice fled. Police said Aslam was wanted in several criminal cases in western UP and had a reward of Rs 15,000 on his head. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Sub-inspector Saurabh received a bullet injury in his leg while constable Vikas escaped with minor injuries in his shoulder. They are undergoing treatment in a private hospital and they are out of danger.
