West Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia becomes major tourist attraction
In Indonesia, off the mainland, Bali and West Nusa Tenggara (WNT) islands are the main tourist attractions now.

Of late, WNT has become more popular with both domestic and foreign tourists due to development of faculties to promote tourism as a major economic activity.

WNT comprises the western portion of the Lesser Sunda Islands with Mataram as the capital and largest city of the province. The two largest islands nearby are Lombok in the west and the larger Sumbawa Island in the east.

As other parts of Indonesia, the climate in WNT also has a tropical climate with temprature range of 20 to 30 degrees with a high average relative humidity. This kind of climate and sea beaches in WNT, attract the holidayers and those interested in eco-tourism.

The area has very beautiful natural scenery, be it the mountains or the beach. This has caused many tourists from other parts of Indonesia and other countries to flock the province due to its stunning scenery. In addition to the panorama of beautiful tourist attraction, wildlife and adventure trips also attract people to this island.

With soft white sand, virgin beaches and hand-woven textiles, the island has exceptional charm which becoming a major resort area now. The week-end regulars shuttle flights from Bali and Surabaya. As cheap transport one can avail ferries provide that excellent transportation links within the islands of the province as well as with the rest of Indonesia.

The island has ethnic groups mainly inhabiting it and trips to ethnic villages is also part of tourism. In the wild, one can see a good number of marsupials, lizards, cockatoos and parrots. Wildlife tourism with guides is also popular.

Many Indian tourists have started visiting WNT Island because of affordable packages and excellent stay facilities. Many Asian honeymooners also prefer this tourist destination away from the hubbub of mainland tourist spots.
