Before the dramatics of the highly-anticipated Celebrity Cyclone Bushtucker Trial on tonight’s instalment of the ITV show, the popular presenting duo Ant and Dec were gearing up to wish good luck to the contestants. 

But when the group of four - consisting of Georgia “Toff” Toffolo, Jamie Lomas, Jennie McAlpine and Iain Lee - walked across the clearing to face the pair, only Iain noticed Dec’s outstretched hand and appreciated a shake. 

While the presenter tried to appear calm and collected, viewers noticed his cheeks redden as his hand was left hanging by the other contestants. 

Taking to Twitter, fans expressed their embarrassment over the cringe-worthy scenes. 

“Holding his hand out to greet the celebs and being ignored is how my life is going right now,” one person wrote.

Another fan joked: “Lmao Dec getting rejected from the girls’ handshake.”

“Dec holding his hand out for only one of them to shake it was painful to watch,” a third agreed.

More viewers continued to comment on the awkward scenario, as one said: “Dec full on got rejected by the celebs. Iain was the only one who shook his hand @antanddec #ImACeleb.”

Despite the rocky start, the final four celebrities, dressed in superhero outfits, threw themselves into the hilarious and difficult Trial, which saw members of the crew throwing various balls in their path.

Following some hiccups in the middle, the group finally managed to collect their four stars to win all the meals for their camp dinner that evening.
