The State Government's Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department is going to organize a two-day Tribal Festival in Raipur on December 10 which is observed as martyrdom day of freedom-fighter and great revolutionary of Chhattisgarh Shaheed Veernarayan Singh.
Department Officials informed that Chief Minister Raman Singh will inaugurate this Tribal Festival on December 10, at 3pm at Government Science College Ground, near GE road, as Chief Guest of the programme.
Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Juel Uraun will preside over the programme.
Closing ceremony of the programme will be organized on December 11 at 5pm. Union Minister of Steel for State. Vishnudev Sai will be the Chief Guest of concluding programme of the event.
During the event, a two-day tribal literature festival will be organized at Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium. In addition, cultural troupes of northeast states will stage their regional folk dances such as bihu dance, hojgiri of Tripura, cherav dance of Mizoram, and other folk dances of Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
In the inaugural programme to be held on December 10, Chairman of National Scheduled Tribes Commission Nandkumar Sai, Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal will be present as special guests on the occasion.
