COIMBATORE: The city police has opened Brooke Bond road for traffic on two ways on Saturday.
City police commissioner K Periaiah has inaugurated the two ways traffic on Brooke Bond Road. He told media persons that heavy vehicles won't be allowed on Brooke Bond Road.
Police said, cars and two wheelers are allowed to travel on either directions. But heavy vehicles should use Mill Road -Sukrawarpet -Mettupalayam Road.
The city police had made the road as one-way hoping to eliminate congestion in December 2015 and motorists enjoyed a hassle-free ride from Chinthamani signal to Avinashi Road flyover. But those vehicles from Avinashi Road flyover were forced to reach Chinthamani Singal from Mill Road - Sukrawarpet - Mettupalayam Road. This route has narrow road and traffic was affected severely.
However people approved the city police commissioner K Periaiah and requested him to allow two ways traffic on Brooke Bond Road.
