Fraudster dupes ASI of Rs 1 lakh

Ludhiana: A man impersonating as reader of a Chandigarh-based vigilance officer allegedly duped an assistant sub-inspector posted in Ludhiana of Rs 1 lakh.


The Division Number 5 police have arrested Ravinder Singh Bedi of Sector 32, Jamalpur.


Assistant commissioner of police (west) Gurpreet Singh said the accused was already wanted in several cases of fraud in different districts.


The accused impersonated as an official attached with different officials of police and vigilance department and duped people. Police have launched a manhunt for his accomplice. tnn
