Israeli arrested for drug possession

Panaji: The crime branch of the Goa Police on Saturday arrested Ben Shoshan Yosef, 57, an Israeli national, for the illegal possession of a narcotic substance worth Rs 15,000 at Anjuna. Upon receiving information that Yosef would be travelling from his house at Anjuna to deliver a package of drugs to a prospective customer, police searched his residence and found him to be in possession of 80g of charas. They also seized Rs 2,000 in cash and attached a micro weighing scale, rolling paper and a pouch. A case has been registered under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police inspector Rajesh Kumar is conducting further investigations. tnn
