After just a day of near normalcy of trains on the Delhi and Amritsar/Ludhiana section, two intercity express trains on this route were cancelled and a few others, including New Delhi-Amritsar Swarn Shatabdi Express, were running late. Further, the Railways cancelled as many as 11 long route trains, rescheduled three others for late departure while many other trains were running late.
Railway officials said 12460 Amritsar-New Delhi Intercity Express and 14681 New Delhi-Jalandhar Intercity Express trains were cancelled for the day due to operational reasons. Some other trains on this route, including 12029 New Delhi-Amritsar Swarn Shatabdi Express, 12459 New Delhi-Amritsar Intercity Express, 12497 New Delhi-Amritsar Shane-Punjab Express and 14682 Jalandhar-New Delhi Intercity Express, were running late by half to one hour.
It was officially stated that 12406 Newjalpaiguri-Amritsar Karambhoomi Express, 12460 Amritsar-New Delhi Intercity Express, 12715 Nanded-Amritsar Sachkhand Express, 12925 Bandra Terminus (Mumbai)-Amristar Pashcim Express, 13152 Jmmu-Kolkata Sealdah Express, 14649 Jaynagar-Amritsar Saryu-Yamuna Express, 14674 Amritsar-Jaynagar Shaheed Express, 14681 New Delhi-Jalandhar Intercity Express, 15209 Sahars-Amritsar Jansewa Express, 15210 Amritsar-Jaynanagr Jansewa Express and 19325 Indore-Amritsar Express trains were cancelled for the day.
