‘Don’t interfere in K’mal shrine affairs’

The Viswa Hindu Parishad has demanded that the local administration refrained from interfering in the affairs of the Jagannath temple at Baliguda in Kandhamal district.

Attending a Press meet here regarding dispute over the Jagannath temple of Baliguda, VHP Odisha east president and Kalinga University, Chhatisgarh VC Dr Badrinath Patnaik said the dispute of Jagannath temple of Baliguda should be resolved amicably and no interference of administration is required.

 “We have discussed with Collector Kandhmal Dr Brands D regarding the matter and tried to solve as early as possible,” he said. Besides, the VHP demanded 50 acres of land from the administration to build a Ram Mandir at Jalespata.

Swamiji Jibanmukta Nanda ji said it has hurt him deeply that there was a row over the temple. Among others, Anand Chandra Pandey, Pabitra Mohan Swain, Priyanath Sharma and Paresh Mahapatra were present.
