CONOR MCGREGOR is unlikely to return to the featherweight division to take part in a rematch with Max Holloway.

Talk of a second encounter between the pair reared its head this past weekend after, whom he defeated via third round TKO. 

And it heated up even more on Sunday night when the duo traded verbal jabs with each other on Twitter, much to the delight of their respective set of fans.

McGregor entertained talk of a rematch between himself and Holloway at a recent Q&A in Glasgow, in which he also hinted that he may one day return to the featherweight division.

So what is the likelihood of the ’s poster boy returning to the 145lbs division to take on 'Blessed'?

According to McGregor's head coach, John Kavanagh, the chances of a rematch between the pair taking place at featherweight are very slim. 

“I don’t (see him returning to featherweight),” Kavanagh told Express Sport. “That would be my honest answer on that.

Despite not foreseeing McGregor returning to the featherweight division, Kavanagh is refusing to rule out such an event occurring.

“But, I also would say if you asked me six months before the (Floyd) Mayweather fight if that’s going to happen I would’ve said no,” he continued.

“So I’m not the one to ask or make decisions about that. That will be Conor’s choice. I find it hard to see that (happening). That’s my opinion.”
