Shatrughan Sinha turns 72: Rare photos of the Dostana actor

In a career that has lasted over 45 years, Shatrughan Sinha has been known for his heroic screen presence, unique dialogue delivery and some really strong performances in front of the camera. In the 70s, with films like Kalicharan, Paras, Dost & Kaala Pathar, Sinha established his strong hold in Bollywood and received love from audience across the country. Shatrughan Sinha's first worked in Dev Anand-starrer Prem Pujari but because of the delay in release, this wasn't his debut film. His debut film was Sajan in 1969.

Shatrughan Sinha is an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

He starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan in a lot of films during that era. Dostana (1980) was one of the most popular films where the two shared screen space.
