Rori Hache was 18 and like most people at that age she had a world of possibilities ahead.
But on Aug. 29, the pretty teen vanished from downtown Oshawa and the search for her ended in heartache when cops confirmed in November that a torso found floating in the former motor city’s harbour belonged to Rori.
She had been murdered in a most heinous manner that left even veteran detectives shocked by the brutality. Rori was pregnant at the time and sources tell the Toronto Sun the fetus had been cut from her.
Weeks later, Durham Regional Police — who have been tight-lipped on their investigation — say there are no updates.
Rori’s family and friends are carrying on with a memorial service Saturday in Memorial Park. The public has been invited to bring food donations, her uncle, Harley Guindon said in a Facebook post.
The service begins at 3 p.m. and features a eulogy by Rev. Teresa Guindon.
Durhamregion.com reports anyone wanting to donate food can drop it off at Gravity Lounge, 45 Prince St., starting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Sources have told the Toronto Sun that in her final days, Hache was frightened of something — or someone — and didn’t seem herself.
Rumours have continued to swirl around the Oshawa area about who was responsible for the sickening slaying.
