PATNA: Paramedics and other contractual employees associated with different government hospitals, primary health centres and additional primary health centres across the state on Saturday called off their indefinite strike following a meeting with state health minister Mangal Pandey.
The employees had launched the strike on December 4 in support of their long pending demands, including regularisation of service and equal pay for equal work. The state government had served an ultimatum to the agitating employees on Thursday, asking them to either resume work or face termination.
Secretary of Bihar State Contractual Health Employees' Federation Lalan Kumar Singh said the strike was withdrawn following the minister's assurance that the government will consider the "genuine" demands of the paramedics.
