Waiting for Godot on Bangladeshi Screen

Samuel Beckett's ground-breaking play Waiting for Godot is being adapted to Bangladeshi visual media for the first time, in a pastiche approach combining Lalonism and literary socio-political references. Ahmed Rubel and Shahadat Hossain will perform as the new Estragon-Vladimir (Gogo and Didi) duo renamed as Humpty-Dumpty. The film is scripted and directed by Ahmed Tahsin Shams and the duration is expected to be around 30 minutes. The shooting of Humpty Dumpty started on 2nd November and has recently ended. This challenging yet contextualized film hopes to reach to the mass in a more simplified and effective manner in order to uphold the philosophy of Lalon through Beckett's characters.
