GUNTUR: TDP MP Galla Jayadev held a review meet on the progress of underground drainage (UGD) works with Public Health and Municipal Engineering department officials and Shapoorji Pallonji contractors at his office here on Friday.  MP Jayadev asked the reasons for the delay in execution of works and instructed officials to expedite works. He directed them to take up inspection chamber works of the 268 km pipeline which is already laid in the city.

He said it would enable the GMC officials to repair roads without any further delay as it is causing major inconvenience to the public. The MP inspected the UGD works at Sarada Colony, Sanjeev Gandhi Nagar and further instructed them to place a flexi mentioning the details of work along with the time frame and helpline numbers in the sites where the work has been completed and new sites as well within a week.
He interacted with the public in these areas and enquired about the works being carried out in their areas.
He said he will monitor the progress of works on a fortnightly basis.
