Minister issues red notice to striking railway workers

Transport Minister Nimal Siripala says as railway services have been gazetted as an essential service, the railway workers who do not report to work will be considered as vacated their posts.

President Maithripala Sirisena signed the relevant gazette notice last night (08).

Meanwhile, the Government Printer said that they received the signed gazette notice this afternoon and it will be published by this afternoon.
