The World Human Rights Protection Association (WHRPA), Odisha Unit is going to organise a national seminar for observance of the 69th International Human Rights Day here on December 10 on the theme “Climate Change And Human Rights: Challenges And Opportunities”, informed WHRPA State president Dr Abhinna Kumar Hota at a Press meet here on Friday.
The seminar would be graced by Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador Dr Sabit Subasic, Malta Consul General Adil Mirza Baig, South Africa High Commission Chief Economic Advisor SC Pradhan and WHRPA national president Shamim Khan.
Hota said more than 200 delegates from various walks of life including senior Government functionaries, representatives of various NGOs, eminent social activists and members of public advocacy groups, advocates, farmers’ representatives, educationists and others are expected to attend the event.
In the meet, discussions would be held on issues of climate change and human rights and to draw a roadmap to resolve these important issues from the grassroots to the highest authority levels. Among others, Odisha WHRPA VPs Debabrata Panigrahi, Ashok Swain and Arbind Das, general secretary Dr Omkar Rout, legal advisor Subhasis Sen, Cuttack district president Santosh Kumar Bhol and Angul and Dhenkanal president Rama Chandra Routray were present.
