Major changes in Tiruvallur, Chennai train services for two days

CHENNAI: The operation of Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) train services in the Chennai Moore Market complex-Tiruvallur section and Velachery-Tiruvallur section will undergo a few changes on Saturday and Sunday.

Due to engineering maintenance works between Avadi and Pattabiram West Siding, all EMU services scheduled to leave Chennai MMC between 9.30 am and 1.00 p.m for Kadambattur, Tiruvallur, Tiruttani, Arakkonam, and Pattabiram will be operated on fast line between Avadi and Pattabiram West Siding. The trains will not stop at Avadi, Hindu College and Pattabiram stations.

Similarly, the Chennai Beach-Tiruvallur EMU local scheduled to leave Chennai Beach at 9.50am and the Chennai Beach-Pattabiram EMU local, leaving Chennai Beach at 10.05 am will not stop at Avadi, Hindu College and Pattabiram. Four trains leaving Chennai Beach between 11 am and 2.30 pm for Avadi, Tiruttani, Tiruvallur and Arakkonam will be operated from Chennai MMC.  These trains  will also be operated on the fast line between Avadi and Pattabiram.

In return, 13 services from Tiruttani, Arakkonam, Thiruvallur and Pattabiram to Chennai MMC and Chennai beach will run on fast line between Pattabiram and Avadi. These trains start between 9.30 am and 2.30 pm. and will not stop at Pattabiram and Hindu College, said a statement  from the Southern Railway.

The Tiruttani-Chennai Beach/Velachery EMU local, scheduled at 8.50 am, Tiruvallur-Chennai Beach/Velachery EMU local at 11.05 am,  Avadi-Chennai Beach/Velachery EMU local to leave Avadi at 12.10 pm and Kadambattur-Chennai Beach/ Velachery EMU local, to leave Kadambattur at 12.05 pm will be operated to Chennai MMC, via fast line between Pattabiram and Avadi. The Tiruvallur-Chennai Beach/Velachery EMU local leaving Tiruvallur at 1.40 pm  will be terminated at Avadi.
