A political commentator believes US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as the Israeli capital has unveiled Washington’s "true face," adding that it has shown the world that it is not a “peacemaker” but rather “stands solely by the Zionist entity.”

“Today more than ever the US is isolated - both the US and the Israeli entity - after Donald Trump made this announcement. I think this announcement came as a shock to the Western capitals … We heard that the UK and France - those who are one of the top allies of the US - they said that this step is politically wrong and that it will affect the peace process,” Hussain al-Mousawy told Press TV in an interview on Saturday.

In a speech at the White House on Wednesday, Trump officially declared Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel's capital, saying his administration would also begin a possibly years-long process of moving the American embassy in Tel Aviv to the holy city.
