TV actor refuses selfie, assaulted  

BENGALURU: A television artiste, who has acted in the Kannada serial ‘Nagini’, was allegedly attacked by three men who also pelted stones at his car after he refused to pose for a selfie with them. The men were said to be under the influence of alcohol and police are now on the lookout for them.

Deekshith Shetty had gone to Maruthi Mandir in his car. While he was getting into his vehicle to return home around 9.30 pm on Thursday, he was approached by the trio. They followed him for some distance on bikes, stopped his car on the road and demanded that he pose for a selfie with them. Noticing that they were drunk, Shetty refused to get out of his car, which led to an argument.

“They assaulted him and threw stones at his car before running away from the scene. He has filed a complaint at the police station and we are examining CCTV footage to establish the identities of the accused,” a senior police officer from Vijaynagar police station said.
