Hornbill Festival displays Nagaland’s rich heritage

Different tribes of Nagaland celebrated the colourful and vibrant Hornbill festival held in the heritage village of Kisama in the state capital Kohima. The festival is celebrated every year with an aim to revive, protect and showcase the inherently rich culture and tradition of the Naga tribes which constitute the cultural mosaic of the landlocked state. Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, on his maiden visit to the northeast, inaugurated the 10- day festival and the 54th Statehood Day and expressed his happiness at being part of such a mega fest.
