  • Last month, BJP had release a video of Hardik Patel which showed him in compromising position with an unidentified woman
  • On Thursday, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, too, had attacked the BJP for its failure to release the election manifesto
NEW DELHI: Patidar leader Hardik Patel on Friday latched on to the BJP for failing to release its election manifesto and slammed it for focusing on the "sex CD".

In a tweet, the Gujarat leader said that BJP was so busy making video CDs of him that they forgot to release their manifesto.

On Thursday, All India Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, too, targeted the BJP for failing to announce its manifesto for the 2017 assembly elections even after the end of campaign period for the first phase of 89 seats of Saurashtra and South Gujarat.

Last month, a purported sex clip of Hardik Patel surfaced in social media which the Patidar quota stir spearhead claimed was morphed and circulated at the behest of the BJP as part of "dirty politics" to defame him.

Commenting on the sex clip purportedly showing him, the 24-year-old Patidar leader said it was the beginning of dirty politics and the BJP would release many more such "morphed" videos to defame him ahead of polls.

"Just few days back, I told the media that such CDs will be circulated. This is just the beginning of dirty politics. I am sure that BJP people would circulate some more CDs because the man who did it recently joined the party in Delhi. But I am not worried at all about such tactics," He told reporters.

"This is a morphed clip and I will give evidence in the coming days to prove my innocence. The BJP wants to retain power by defaming me," he said.
