UZ chairman held in Rangamati

Rangamati : Police arrested Bilaichhari upazila chairman Shuvo Mangal Chakma from his house in Asambasti area of the district town early Friday in a case.

Shuvo Chakma is an accused in a case relating to attack on Bilachhari upazila Awami League vice president Russel Marma.

Five more people were arrested from the district on Thursday in connection with the case.

Russel Marma was seriously injured in a terrorist attack in Bilaichhari upazila headquarters on on Tuesday.

Local Awami League has blamed Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) for the attack.

A case has been filed with the Bilaichhari Police Station mentioning names of 31 people in this connection.
