Christmas is the season of good will to all men, even if they have been a colossal prat like , and the festive season may see a previous lover looking to reunite with the villain.

The schemer of the has finally got his comeuppance last month, which has seen him left out in the cold after he tore the White family apart.

Robert was left reeling after discovered his plot to wrench Home Farm from the grasp of the White family patriarch Lawrence (John Bowe), telling him he would never see his son Seb again.

She cut all ties with Robert and left with their baby after she exposed all his lies and scheming, giving a tearful farewell to her family before setting off.

However, revealed that sister Chrissie White (Louise Marwood) is looking to smuggle her sister back into the Dales so the miserable White family can at least have a merry Christmas.

Viewers will also see a devastated (and drunk) Robert be savagely rejected by Lawrence as he tries to pass on a selection of gifts for Seb.

But in scenes that will air on Boxing Day, viewers will see Rebecca plagued with guilt for cutting Robert off, which only worsen when she sees the stacks of unopened presents he went out and bought for Seb.

Not quite as willing to forgive and forget, Chrissie tells her to just throw the presents in the bin, but Rebecca is left torn.

When father Lawrence tells her to make her own decisions, Rebecca writes Robert a thank you card, and her heart warms to her devious ex when she watches him break down from afar.

Will this be the pivotal moment that sees Rebecca welcome Robert back into her life?

Or could it be too late for a reunion, with revealing Robert may see himself in danger in the Christmas episode.

After seeing true love Aaron on a date with hot new beau Doctor Alex Mason (Steven Flynn) a drunk and dejected Robert takes a bottle of whisky and hits the road, walking around the country lanes in the dark.

Could this be the Emmerdale villain's fitting end?
