YAMUNA EXPRESSWAY: At least 60 sanitation workers in six teams were deployed for 53 gram panchayats of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Wednesday even as collective cleaning work began from village Dayanatpur with the aim to make all villages under YEIDA smart village project.
Since sanitation workers were removed from nearly 100 villages of 53 gram panchayats of Dankaur and Jewar areas of YEIDA following the revocation of Panchayat system during Samajwadi Party rule, the sanitary health of these villages had been dwindling.
In this context, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh along with YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh initiated the mass cleanliness drive from Shiv Mandir at Dayanatpur village and also deployed 60 sanitation staff in these villages.
"Due to lack of cleanliness in these villages, there were stacks of dirt and unhealthy living conditions posing threat of various diseases," said Singh who further adds that development work worth Rs 62 crores will be done in the notified villages of YEIDA in the month of January of the coming financial year.
On the occasion, YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh stated that speed of development will be brought back as "YEIDA will soon remove the problems of electricity, water, roads, sewerage, community centre, health centre, playground and education etc. It will also beautify the village ponds as our aim is to make each village a smart village in coming days."
