(MENAFN - Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: President Trump recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel has sparked widespread protests throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata.

A large number of people staged a protest in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency and asked the US to take the announcement back.

Similarly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf also staged a protest outside Peshawar Press Club who demanded of the government to close down embassy of the United States in Islamabad.

The protesters also demanded from Organization of Islamic Conference to forge unity among their ranks and sever diplomatic ties with the US.

Residents of Bajaur Agency also staged a protest demonstration and burnt US flags, asking the federal government to expel US ambassador from the country.
