(MENAFN - UkrinForm) The State AgencyonEnergy EfficiencyandEnergy SavingofUkraine and the NEFCO corporation have started negotiations on creation of a joint venture to produce energy-efficient equipment and materials using European technologies.
This is reported by the Governmental portal.
"The State AgencyonEnergy EfficiencyandEnergy SavingofUkraine and the NEFCO corporation considered the prospects for creating green projects with participation of the Finnish business in Ukraine," the statement reads.
The signing of the agreement between the Finnish Foreign Ministry and the NEFCO on establishment of a fund for financing green projects in Ukraine stimulated the interest of Finnish companies in the Ukrainian market, experts said.
In this connection, chairman of the State AgencyonEnergy EfficiencyandEnergy SavingofUkraine Serhiy Savchuk held a working meeting with chief investment adviser of NEFCO in Ukraine Yulis Shevchuk and executive director of the Representative Office of the Finnish Water Forum in Central Asia of the Kaukointernational Central Asia company Volodymyr Oleshchenko. The parties discussed the peculiarities of establishment and functioning of the future Finnish-Ukrainian trust fund.
The chairman of the State AgencyonEnergy EfficiencyandEnergy SavingofUkraine noted: "Ukraine and Finland are partners in the development of renewable energy. The establishment of a joint fund for supporting green projects will strengthen bilateral cooperation and activate both Finnish and Ukrainian businesses in this area. The main thing is to prepare for implementation the qualitative "bankable" projects which in future will find their investor and facilitate reducing the country's energy dependence."
