Crucial meeting underway to solve train strike
A discussion between President's Secretary Austin Fernando and striking Railway trade unions began at the Presidential Secretariat, Colombo this morning (08).

Fernando told Hiru News that the Secretary to the Transport Ministry was informed to invite all the trade unions for the discussion.

Even yesterday, a discussion was held between trade union representatives and the Ministry secretary.

But it ended without reaching a consensus.

Meanwhile, Railway Main Control Room said 8 office trains were operated this morning.

The train season ticket holders are allowed to travel on SLTB buses using their season tickets.
